The Indian economy has been booming over the past decade, spurred by growing industrial and technological productivity that has catapulted it from an overlooked developing country to one on the forefront of the global stage. But while the richest benefactors of India’s rise in prosperity thrive in a life of opulence, the lower class has been ravaged by the effects of COVID-19, resulting in skyrocketing unemployment and a return to an austere way of life.

We interview a young man from the inner city of New Delhi, who gives his thoughts on the dichotomy of rich and poor that threatens to end the momentum India has built and their current struggle with the pandemic.
